WHO WE ARE 

 

Stephanie Trump Johnston, M.S.,M.A.,E-RYT 500 began her professional career as a Speech Language Pathologist and spent over 25 years specializing in the treatment of adults with neurological problems such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s Disease and Alzheimer’s Disease/dementia. She began practicing yoga almost thirty years ago. She earned her initial Yoga Teacher Certification at the Peachtree Yoga Center in Atlanta, Georgia in 2000. Since that time she has completed over 3000 hours of yoga training with many schools and styles. She earned a Masters degree in Psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology and has a particular interest in the relationship between psychological and yogic theories as well as using yogic practices to improve mental and emotional wellbeing. Most recently, she has done advanced training in yoga and its benefits to the brain and nervous system. Along with managing our yoga community, she is also an Adjunct Professor at Penn State Harrisburg where she teaches classes in Yoga and its philosophy.  Stephanie has an open and light-hearted style and specializes in making yoga accessible and practical which allows for the possibility of living our lives in a more genuine and authentic way. Adrienne Cray, RYT-200 teaches our Wednesday evening Gentle Yoga class and our Restorative class. She earned her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification here at Free Spirit Yoga in 2019. Her personal yoga and meditation practice allows her to stay connected to her true self between her family’s busy schedule. She has continued her yoga training in restorative yoga, trauma informed yoga and holds her teacher registration with the Yoga Alliance. Adrienne’s style of teaching consists of gentle movements with focus on the breath while connecting within.

Debbie Rill, RYT-200 teaches our Strengthen, Flow and Restore class. She is passionate about sharing the transformational tools of yoga with others. Her yoga journey began 16 years ago at Free Spirit Yoga as a brand new student and earned her teaching certification from Free Spirit Yoga in 2021. She is active as a yoga guide with a non-profit organization, giving back by taking yoga into the community. She has plans to continue her yoga training in restorative yoga and trauma informed yoga.

Kara Perella, RYT-200 is one of our substitute teachers and is one of our Community Yoga Teachers. Kara took her first yoga class over 20 years ago as a teenager, received her 200 hour yoga teacher certification from Free Spirit Yoga in 2017 and has since acquired additional training in Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Accessible Yoga and Trauma-Informed Yoga. She has found great benefit by including Restorative Yoga in her personal practice to release mental and physical stress and loves to share this type of practice with others.
