TEACHER TRAINING AND DEEPENING YOUR PRACTICE CERTIFICATIONS
We are now accepting applications for our next Yoga Teacher Training Program. Our program is not only for people who are interested in teaching yoga, but more importantly, it is perfect for anyone who is looking to deepen their own practice or who is looking for a personal growth opportunity. We offer two tracks: The first track is the actual Yoga Teacher Training which includes everything you need to become a Certified Yoga Teacher and allows you to Register with the Yoga Alliance at the 200 hour level. The second track is called the Deepening Your Practice track. This is for people who are not necessarily interested in teaching yoga, but who want to use the training as a personal growth opportunity where they will learn more about yoga, its philosophy and practices, as well as themselves during the process. We are now accepting applications for our both tracks. The next program will begin in May, 2019. You may move through all of the Modules in order, or you can take up to three years to complete the Training on your own timeline. Please contact Stephanie if you or someone you know is interested and she will send a copy of the full syllabus for whichever track you are interested in as well as an application. Feel free to check out the YTT section of our website.

YEAR LONG MEDITATION CHALLENGE!!
FREE KICK OFF CLASS
SUNDAY, JULY 14
1:00 - 2:00 PM
In response to the increase in stress and unrest in the world, the Himalayan Institute has created a Year Long Meditation (YLM) initiative where people can commit to meditating every day for one year. The YLM begins on July 16, but you can start after that as well. Each person's practice is personal and you can meditate in whatever way works for you and for however long you want. We have committed to doing this and would like to invite you to join us. Even if you have never meditated before, this is a fantastic opportunity to start. We will be having a free Kick Off session on Sunday, July 14 from 1:00 - 2:00/2:30. During this session, questions will be answered regarding meditation and suggestions on how to practice will be provided. In addition, we will lead a short guided meditation. As a means of helping in this process, we have created a CD which includes a 5 minute, 10 minute and 15 minute guided meditation. You can use this each day to make things easier of you like. We are asking for a $5 donation for each CD in order to cover the cost of making them. Please email or call the studio if you are interested in this and if you will be coming on the 14th. In addition, please let us know if you want a CD. As the year progresses, we will be offering a "support"session one Sunday morning a month. This will consist of a guided meditation as well as time for questions and comments about how things are going. The dates for these sessions will be announced in each monthly newsletter, but will generally be on the 2nd or 3rd Sunday of the month from 10:00 - 11:00 am. I hope you will consider joining us in this worthwhile practice :).

This time Cathy will be re-educating us on the Pelvic Floor – where it is, what it does, how it relates to our abdomen/back/core and will focus on incontinence in all its many forms: from leaking when you laugh or sneeze, to urinary urgency, to having to get up several times a night to urinate. In addition, Cathy will show us simple, but effective exercises that we can do in our day to day lives to improve pelvic floor health and tone and to decrease the incidence of incontinence. In addition, there will be a specialized yoga practice led by Elizabeth Stuart, RYT200 which incorporates additional movements and exercises. The workshop will be from 10:00 – 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 21 and the cost is $25. Please call or email the studio to register.
